Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was officially confirmed as host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games in November 2025. The milestone places India at the centre of a global multi-sport event and creates a long runway for readiness, delivery and legacy planning.

The 2036 horizon
An Olympic ambition with generational potential.
India has submitted a formal Letter of Intent to the International Olympic Committee to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with Ahmedabad proposed as host city.
The host has not yet been selected. Even at the ambition stage, the bid signals a long-term national conversation around world-class sporting environments, athlete development and event-ready infrastructure.
